MS Dynamics AX Functional Consultant (Manufacturing / Production /Master Planning Module)

Main Purpose of this role:

The AX Functional Lead will configure and implement Microsoft Dynamics AX. They will use their knowledge of business processes and Dynamics AX to identify software gaps (gap/fit analysis) and suggest “best industry” practices and alternatives. As part of the project team, the Functional Consultant will write development specifications and also interface with customers throughout the life cycle of the project to resolve issues that may arise. The Functional Consultant will also be responsible for knowledge transfer to customers during all stages of the project and must be able to maintain effective customer relationship.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with customers to facilitate the implementation and support of Dynamics AX Production and Master Planning modules using industry best practices
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their business requirements and conduct gap analysis
  • Preparing pre-design documentation and offering solutions with client requirements and requests
  • Identifying opportunities to improve the functionality of the solution tightening the interfaces and enhancing the acceptance of Dynamics AX.
  • Design, configuration and testing of core Dynamics AX Production as well as Master Planning module.
  • Defining AX enhancement requirements for reports and business processes/forms etc., that a developer can use for AX enhancements.
  • Testing enhancements for customer acceptance and accuracy.
  • Providing general usability guidance, and preparation reference material for end users.
  • Actively work with all involved to mitigate risks by maintaining a project plan.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience as Microsoft Dynamics AX Production Functional Consultant. Experience with Supply Chain a big plus.
  • Minimum 2 years Dynamics AX implementations experience.
  • Certification in Dynamics AX Production or Lean Manufacturing required.
  • Experience participating in all stages of lifecycle in multiple AX implementation projects
  • Expert in writing Functional specifications, Gap documentation and training materials
  • Strong Functional, Analytical, Presentation, Documentation and Training skills.

Education

  • Bachelor's (undergraduate) or Master's (graduate) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or industry related discipline.
