About the Company:

Established in 2006, this EU-GMP & TGA approved pharmaceutical company is a leader in advanced solutions for Pellets, Granules, Tablets, and Capsule manufacturing. Operating from a cutting-edge WHO GMP facility, they specialize in producing high-quality Sustained and Modified Release Pellets, DC Granules, and Taste Masked Granules. Their expertise also includes offering superior Quality Analytical Services, covering formulation, packaging, and quality assurance for both solid and semi-solid finished products.

 Business Challenges:

Customer previously used NAV 2017 for its business operations. As an on-premises system, it required customers to manage and maintain the hardware necessary for NAV. However, NAV 2017 lacked the operational and performance capabilities required to meet the stringent compliance standards of the pharmaceutical industry. With Microsoft having ended mainstream support for NAV 2017 and extended support set to conclude in 2026, it is essential for the client to upgrade to the latest cloud platform. This platform ensures compliance with industry standards and supports future growth.

Solution:

We suggested that the client upgrade from NAV 2017 to Dynamics 365 Business Central. This change will help solve these issues. During the implementation, we provided the following solutions:

  1. On Cloud platform: We migrated them to Business Central on cloud. Hence eliminating the need for an on-premises hardware infrastructure.
  2. Pharma Module: We built the pharma module using Business Central. It includes business processes such as quality assurance, quality checks, and sampling. We changed standard Business Central modules, including procurement, manufacturing, inventory, and sales. Additionally, there is a custom plant maintenance module.
  3. We assisted the team in earning their operational qualification certification. A third-party agency completed this during the UAT phase of the project. We worked with the agency to check the system’s performance after it launched.
  4. The team added more business processes to the Business Central system. They had handled these processes manually before. These tasks included caring for plants, managing several storage bins, and making indents.

The company upgraded from NAV 2017 to Dynamics 365 Business Central, tackling operational challenges and ensuring GMP compliance. The cloud move improved performance, eliminated onsite hardware, and streamlined operations.
