Sharing Schedule Board in D365 Field Service
Introduction: This blog explains options available for sharing of Schedule Board in D365 Field Services Pre-requisite: Latest Field Service Solution of D365. Procedure: Open Schedule Board, Field Service -> Schedule Board. Open a specific Tab Setting on Schedule Board for e.g. Facility as highlighted below. Click on field “Shared With” dropdown. Schedule Board can be shared with below 3 options Everyone – Schedule Board is shared with all Users. Just Me – Schedule Board is shared with Login User Only. Specific People – Schedule Board is shared with Specific People. Steps to Share Schedule Board with Specific People: Select “Specific People” option in Shared With field of Tab Setting on Schedule Board. Open “Schedule Board Settings” entity records from Advanced Find. Open Schedule Board of Specific People record from the results. Click on “Share” button in ribbon. Add new User by Clicking on “Add User/Team” option and provide privileges as per need. Conclusion: This blog explains the options to share Schedule Board and, also how a Schedule Board can be shared with specific Users only.

Filter Data in Dynamics Field Service Mobile App
Problem Statement: User Syncs data in Field Service Mobile App for first time a large data transfer happens and it takes a long time may be around hours depending on data in D365 Field Service. This blog will explain how to filter data been stored in Mobile and save time for data transfer while syncing. Solution: Below are steps to filter data explained with scenario for displaying only Work Order assigned to Login User. 1. Select “Work Order” Entity and click button “Sync Filter” as highlighted in below screenshot 2. Click “Add Condition” button as shown below 3. Click “Save & Close” button after conditions are developed. 4. Publish Solution. Conclusion: Sync Filter saves data stored in Mobile and time for syncing. We need to create Sync Filter for all business entities.

Integrating the Outlook calendar with the field service is entirely possible when you are using this ERP suite. Introduction: This blog explains how to configure work order bookings for Field technicians who need them to show in the Outlook calendar. Prerequisites: 1. Dynamics 365 Field Service licenses 2. Office 365 Enterprise E3 licenses Configuration: Enable and Test email mailbox for relevant Users is successful. Working: Below are steps for setting up Outlook Integration with Field Service to set this up in the system Login to Dynamics 365 Field Service environment as an “Administrator”. Next, go to Settings > Administration > System Settings > Synchronization and check Synchronize resource bookings with Outlook. Login to Dynamics 365 Field Service environment as a “Technician”. Navigate to Options > Synchronization. And check Synchronize resource bookings with Outlook. Login to Dynamics 365 Field Service environment as an “Administrator” and schedule a Work Order to Technician. Login into Outlook with the User related to that “Field technician”. Open Calendar and booking is shown as below. Note: The Booking may take 10+ minutes to show in Outlook. This is because it is an asynchronous service.
