Enable multiple pickup delivery modes for customer orders in D365 Retail POS(Commerce )
In Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce version 10.0.16 and later, Retailers can define multiple modes of delivery that shoppers or sales associates can choose among when they create an order that will be picked up at a store. In this way, organizations can provide multiple pickup options to their shoppers. For example, many retailers now offer shoppers the choice of in-store pickup or curbside pickup for their orders. Commerce supports the configuration of these different pickup delivery modes. Users can then take advantage of them when they create customer orders in any supported Commerce channel (e-commerce, call center, or store). To use this functionality, turn on the Support for multiple pickup delivery modes feature in the Feature management workspace in Commerce headquarters. After you turn on the feature, additional configuration is required. After you turn on the Support for multiple pickup delivery modes feature, you can define multiple pickup delivery modes in the Pickup mode of delivery grid on the Modes of delivery FastTab on the Customer orders tab of the Commerce parameters page. In store channels, if a customer order for pickup is created through the point of sale (POS) application, the sales associate is prompted to choose among the available pickup delivery modes, if any have been configured. If only one valid pickup delivery mode is available for the channel and item, the sales associate isn’t prompted to select it. Instead, the available pickup delivery mode is automatically applied to the order lines. Hope this helps!
How to handle multiple loyalty cards in the POS in D365 Retail(Commerce)
Loyalty programs can help increase customer loyalty by rewarding customers for their interactions with the retailer’s brand. In Dynamics 365 Commerce, you can set up simple or complex loyalty programs that apply across your legal entities in any commerce channel. You can set up your loyalty program in many ways so that it includes options such as: multiple types of rewards, incentives, earning rules, manual point adjustment. Some customers will also require to setup multiple loyalty cards for every customers. For example as you can see Stuart has 2 loyalty cards associated with his account. The provision to allow customers to have multiple cards is a useful feature but it makes the loyalty card process a bit complex. Complex in a way that loyalty card will not be selected by default hence cashiers will need to be careful and choose a loyalty card during every transaction. If you do not select a loyalty card, then points will not be earned for the customer while making a purchase. To avoid this from happening, what cashier can do is always search for the customers with their loyalty card numbers. This way the loyalty card would be selected automatically while customer is making a purchase. However if the customer does not have the card number handy then the cashier will need to select a loyalty card I hope this helps!
Hide non-carrier delivery modes from the shipping options in POS
This topic describes a configuration option that is available for the point of sale (POS) application. This configuration option changes the behaviour for the selection of a mode of delivery when shipment orders are created in POS. When users create customer shipment orders in POS, they can select a mode of delivery for the shipment. This functionality is available regardless of whether the whole order is being shipped or only selected lines. By default, the dialog box where a mode of delivery is selected shows all the valid modes of delivery for the combination of a channel, an item, and a delivery address. These modes of delivery are defined on the Modes of delivery page in Headquarters (Sales and marketing > Setup > Distribution > Modes of delivery). “Non-carrier” modes of delivery, such as Carryout or Pickup, might also appear for selection in the dialog box. However, a feature has been added that lets you hide non-carrier modes of delivery in the dialog box. To turn on this feature, on the Commerce parameters > Customer orders tab, set the Show only carrier mode options for ship orders option to Yes. After you turn on this feature and run the appropriate distribution jobs to sync the information to the channel database, non-carrier modes of delivery won’t appear for selection during the process of creating shipment orders in POS. Hope This helps. Thankyou!
Mix and Match Discounts in Dynamics 365 Commerce (Retail)
In Dynamics 365 for Retail there are many types of discounts available which retailers can offer to customers. These discounts help the business increase the sales and also the customer base. One of the discounts is called Mix and Match Discount . A mix-and-match discount gives customers a discount when they purchase a specific combination of products. For example, a customer purchases two boxes of tea and receives 50 percent off the price of a tea cup. Products and variants can be included in mix-and-match discounts. Here is how you can configure Mix and Match discounts. In the above screen grabs you can see two types of mix and match discounts 1) Buy one product and get 50% off on the 2nd product 2) Buy one product and get another product free(100% off) You can add more products and use them in combination to offer discounts. After you have created discounts make sure to add your retail store to the price groups Hope this helps!
Threshold (amount-based) discount in Dynamics 365 for Retail(Commerce)
A threshold discount is a discount that is given to customers when the total for a transaction reaches one or more specified amounts. For example, you could create a discount that gives a 10 percent discount for purchases over 100.00 and a flat 25.00 discount for totals over 200.00. You can set it up from the following path Retail>Pricing and discounts Once you have configured the discount as per your requirement as shown here, do make sure you add a price group to it which has the the store mentioned where discount would be applied On POS whenever you sell an item from the Jewelry category and if the total bill is going over 1000$, customers will get 5% discount. Hope this helps!
Suspend(Hold) and Recall a transaction in the POS in D365 Retail(Commerce)
Point of sale (POS) users can suspend in-progress transactions, and then resume them later or on a different register. Transactions are often suspended to quickly free up a register for a different task without losing any progress on the current transaction. For example, a store associate starts to process a customer’s transaction on a mobile device but must complete it on a register that has a cash drawer. In this case, the store associate can suspend the transaction on the mobile device, and then recall and resume it on a register. You can suspend a transaction by clicking on Suspend transaction button on POS and Recall it by using Recall transaction button You can void suspended transactions either by recalling the transaction and then performing the Void transaction operation, or by selecting the transaction in the Recall transaction list and selecting Void on the app bar. Alternatively, the store can be configured to prompt users to void suspended transactions when they close their shift. This can be configured from Functionality profile of the store. Hope this helps!
Numpad to remain on-screen in POS inventory receiving form in Dynamics 365 For Retail
This functionality was available in point of sale (POS) in Retail version 7.2. This functionality allowed for the numeric keypad (numpad) to appear at all times on the product receiving form. Having the numpad always available helps improve the efficiency of scanning product barcodes as part of POS receiving. This feature was removed after Retail version 7.3 due to screen redesign, but it has been brought back in all new releases. This functionality is enabled by default. You can access it from Picking and Receiving button on POS. Click on New button and the Numpad should open. Hope this helps !
New feature: Manually switching to Offline MPOS in Dynamics 365 Retail (Commerce)
Offline functionality in Modern POS (MPOS) is critical to business continuity and continuous store operations. MPOS must be available whenever needed, and as a result, it is critical that offline mode is provided for the broadest set of scenarios. Generally Offline functionality is not enabled by default. When you create a store, you need to configure it to run MPOS, You need to enable Support offline functionality from the register level and on store-level ensure that offline profile is selected. After running the appropriate jobs, offline functionality should work with MPOS in case the internet connection goes out. The offline mode should kick in automatically when the connection with retail HQ or internet goes out. Microsoft has extended this functionality by making an improvement to it. Now you have the ability to switch to offline manually prior to signing in to MPOS. To do this you need to go to an offline profile and enable allow a manual switch to offline Run Register, Channel Configuration and Offline database configuration jobs. Now open the MPOS App and click on the Hamburger icon at the top left of the screen and go to settings Here you get an option to switch to the offline mode if you want to work offline. The advantage of having this manual mode is that if you don’t have to wait for MPOS to decide whether to switch to the offline mode or not. Hence your time is saved. You can make that decision and proceed with offline or online mode. Hope this helps!
POS Receipts printing, Device connectivity issues in Microsoft D365 For Retail
Customers are looking for experiences when they go for shopping these days. They are not planning to use a particular store if they do not get the best experience. In contrast, if a store is providing the best service, customers are very much interested in visiting that store again. If you want to be a successful retailer, you should plan on using Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Retail Management Solution. When you use this particular product or software, you are not only going to streamline the process but will provide the best customer experience to your customers apart from improving the retail management. You are going to easily scale up your business high when you use this particular software. Activating/installing POS on a new system is a straight forward process. However what I have noticed on several occasions is that connecting the printer with hardware stations can sometimes take too many efforts than the standard defined process. The standard process should ideally work and should not take too much effort to get the POS to work. However in some cases when the standard process does not work, you need to find a workaround to get the things to work. Here in this article I am going to suggest several ways to get your POS to connect with printer if there are printer/peripherals connectivity issues Reinstall latest Monroe CCO OPOS driver and hardware station Make sure to test the connection. The ping should be successful after installing the hardware station Check printer name in printer settings of your system and also in POS hardware profile in F & O Make sure in OPOS ADK App has printer added to it. If not then right click on POS Printer>Add new device>Select printer>Add New LDN(Printer Model name as defined in the printer settings) If still there are issues, you can try the below steps Make RetailHwsUser part of the local administrator group To do that first: Open computer manager by right clicking windows start icon 2. Double click on Administrator group 3. And Add the RetailHwsUser 4. Go to users tab and assign password to this new user profile(RetailHwsUser) 5. Login as RetailHwsUser and setup the LDN to the printer/device name 6. Now reinstall the hardware station and restart the computer. After restart if it still does not work, Please reinstall the hardware station once more Now you should be able to pair and print the receipts. Most of the time, this works, however,if these steps still don’t work then please raise it to Microsoft support team.
Benefits of implementing Cloud POS in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Retail
Maintaining a retail store is not an easy task. You have to take care of several aspects. Unfortunately, not many retailers know how to do it. They struggle to take care of things such as retail store management, providing customer experience and support etc. It is wise to get Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Retail Management Solution if you desire to better the process. Now, this another product from Microsoft that is aiming at improving the overall performance of your company. Installing and using this software is pretty ease. You might struggle a bit during the initial stages. For example, you might not know things such as POS receipts printing as well as struggle dealing with connectivity issues in Microsoft 365. Here’s everything you need to know how to handle these things. Dynamics 365 for Retail provides mid-market and large retailers with a complete head office and point of sale (POS) solution that includes support for online and brick-and-mortar stores. It can help retailers increase financial returns, improve service, manage growth, reach customers, and streamline efficiencies. Dynamics 365 for Retail supports two types of POS experience: Cloud POS is a browser-based POS that can be started in any standard browser on Desktops, Laptops, mobile devices. Retail Modern POS (MPOS App) can be used on clients such as PCs and tablets to process sales transactions, customer orders, and daily operations, and to perform inventory management. There are many obvious reasons as to why a retailer would prefer to choose Cloud POS instead of Modern POS: Since CPOS runs in a browser, the application isn’t installed on the device. Instead, the browser accesses the application code from the CPOS server. Which is why you wont be able to use cloud POS in offline state but these days Internet connectivity is available almost 24/7 so it’s not an issue. A zero-footprint, cloud-hosted solution brings benefits in terms of cost and simplicity. Sales staff can process sales transactions and customer orders, perform clienteling activities, and perform daily operations and inventory management on mobile devices anywhere in the store, and also at PC-based registers. Deployment is easy as no installation is required except for the hardware station which on the main host system. All you need to do is activate the POS. When you change/upgrade your system, all you need to do is re-activate CPOS. You can also set up Hybrid Android app which lets you use CPOS though Android App on any Android phone. One of the advantages of having CPOS is it’s cross platform availability. It can run on any operating system. All it requires is a browser to run.
